Paolo Fortina

Paolo Fortina graduated in Law from the University of Bologna in 2003 and completed its postgraduate School for the Legal Professions in 2005. After initial experience at Studio Girani and the Italian State Legal Service, he completed his legal traineeship and began practising at the Bologna firm of Danilo Galletti and Antonio Rossi, both professors of commercial law.

Admitted to the Bar in 2007, he worked at BVS Avvocati & Commercialisti in Milan before founding NL Studio Legale in 2009. In 2011 he obtained a Ph.D. in Civil and Commercial Law through the “Persona e Mercato” programme at the University of Urbino Carlo Bo. His further training covers intellectual property and patents at Pavia, insurance law at the University of Milan, and art law and taxation with Il Sole 24 Ore and MUDEC.

He practises civil law and is admitted to appear before the Italian Supreme Court of Cassation and other higher courts. He advises businesses, professionals and individuals on civil and professional liability, insurance, contracts and commercial disputes. He also acts as a Data Protection Officer and advises on data protection. Since 2021 he has been a consultant to the Trade Marks Section of the Milan Monza Brianza Lodi Chamber of Commerce.

He served as an honorary judge in the Tenth Civil Division of the Court of Milan, gaining particular experience in personal injury disputes.

Alongside his practice, he conducts legal research, teaches and writes. He is academic director and a lecturer at NL Scuola Giuridica and the founder of Corso Fortina. He has delivered training for AMAPE, UNAI and ASSOAMIANTO, including courses for condominium managers. He is the author of Il contratto di licensing and Il testamento olografo.
